STARTS Refresher Course

The purpose of this course is to introduce/refresh instructors on the use of simulation as a teaching and learning tool. The instructors will review various simulators, task trainers, and modalities of learning that can be incorporated into their simulation education curriculum.

Once they are deemed competent online, instructors receive hands-on practice operating the various simulators, task trainers, software and equipment in the STAR Center.

• Review the role of simulation in enhancing the educational experience.
• Identify the principles of best practices in simulation education.
• Demonstrate how to operate the STAR simulators, task trainers, software and equipment.
• Identify the forms required to request and conduct a simulation session in the STAR Center.
