Teaching rounds occur daily with dedicated faculty members in the ICU’s and the pulmonary consult service with the fellows, medicine residents and medical students. The goal is to create a learning environment in which fellows learn the principles that govern the practice of pulmonary and critical care medicine, develop their clinical skills and autonomy to provide comprehensive patient care also incorporating the principles of a commitment to lifelong learning, the value of cooperative and collaborative team work, and the importance of the psychosocial aspects of patient care. We have a strong research culture and continue to encourage clinical research.
