• Experience: AHN’s highly skilled team has extensive experience performing advanced stroke therapy, caring for more than 2,500 patients with cerebrovascular conditions each year. Cerebrovascular conditions we treat 

The multidisciplinary team at the AHN Neuroscience Institute treats cerebrovascular diseases including: 

• Arteriovenous malformation: When abnormal blood vessels become
  tangled up in the brain.
• Carotid artery stenosis: A narrowing of the large arteries on each side of the neck, often from a buildup of plaque inside the arteries, that can lead to a blockage or stroke.
• Brain aneurysm: A bulge or swelling of a blood vessel in the brain that can leak or rupture, causing a hemorrhagic stroke.
• Stroke: A stroke happens when the flow of blood to the brain is blocked or something causes bleeding in the brain, depriving the brain of oxygen.
• Transient ischemic attack (TIA): Also known as a mini stroke, a TIA blocks blood from the brain for a short amount of time, but tends to resolve quickly. It leaves you at greater risk of having a major stroke.
