The AHN Orthopaedic Institute has four departments: orthopaedic, podiatry, physiatry, and sports medicine. Within these departments are a number of clinics, divisions, and other specialties. Adult Reconstruction Division (Joint Replacement)

Schedule with a fellowship-trained joint surgeon or trauma surgeon who focuses on repairing or replacing joints like hips and knees.

Hand and Upper Extremity Division

Schedule with an orthopaedic surgeon who has gone through additional training in hand and upper extremity procedures. We treat a variety of conditions that affect your hands, wrists, forearms, elbows, shoulders, and rotator cuffs. These include arthritis, cuts, sprains, strains, broken bones, nerve problems like carpal tunnel syndrome, and sports injuries.

Orthopaedic General Surgery Division

Schedule an evaluation for surgery with a general orthopaedic surgeon who is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. These disorders affect your ligaments, muscles, bones, cartilage, joints, and tendons.

Orthopaedic Oncology

Schedule with an orthopaedic surgeon who has gone through additional training in treating tumors and cancers that affect your bones, cartilage, muscles, and soft tissues.

To make an appointment for orthopaedic oncology:

Orthopaedic Trauma Division

Schedule a follow-up appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon who has gone through additional training in sudden, severe injuries affecting your bones, joints, and supporting tissue. These include multiple broken bones, compound fractures, fractures near a joint, crushed bones, fractures that haven’t healed properly, and complications from orthopaedic trauma.

To make a follow-up appointment for orthopaedic trauma:

Osteoporosis and Fragility Fracture Clinic

If you have a referral from your primary care provider (PCP) or orthopaedic doctor, you can schedule with a nurse practitioner who specializes in supporting bone health and the prevention and care of osteoporosis. Following a fall or fracture, we work to strengthen bones to prevent future dangerous falls.

Pediatric Orthopaedic Institute

Schedule with a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon or physician assistant who specializes in treating problems affecting bones, joints, and muscles in infants, children, and young adults up to age 26. The AHN Pediatric Orthopaedic Institute combines compassionate care with technologies that have been proven safe and effective for young patients, including low-risk EOD imaging and musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Schedule with an orthopaedic surgeon who has gone through additional training in treating spine problems, injuries, and disorders.

Podiatry

Schedule with a podiatrist (foot doctor) who focuses on treating problems with your feet and ankles using nonsurgical treatment methods like bracing, medication, physical therapy, and strength training.

Foot and Ankle Division

Schedule with an orthopaedic surgeon who has gone through additional training in foot and ankle surgery. The Foot and Ankle Division of the AHN Orthopaedic Institute treats arthritis in the feet, ankles, or toes, complications of orthopaedic trauma, conditions present at birth like overlapping or webbed toes, foot problems related to diabetes, joint dislocations, and sports injuries.

Outpatient Physiatry

Schedule with a provider who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Outpatient physiatrists frequently work with patients using nonsurgical procedures, like pain medicine, to treat injury and illness and manage pain.

Athletic Trainers

Our athletic trainers work under the direction of AHN orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, and physical therapists to help your team play hard while staying strong and healthy. We offer pre-participation physical exams, sports-specific specialty programs, on-site injury evaluation and immediate care for minor injuries, and education for coaches and parents.

Concussion Center

Schedule with a provider who specializes in concussion care and treatment to help you feel better. For mild concussions, you may see a sports medicine doctor. For severe concussions or post-concussion syndrome, you may receive care from neurologists, neurosurgeons, occupational therapists, psychologists, and speech pathologists.

Primary Care – Sports Medicine

Schedule with a primary care sports medicine provider who can triage all orthopaedic conditions and treat patients using nonsurgical options. If surgery is needed, they will refer you to the appropriate type of orthopaedic surgeon. We treat conditions and injuries like Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, golfer’s elbow, rotator cuff tears, low back pain, knee pain, minor joint problems like bursitis, and sprains or strains.

Sports Medicine Surgery

Schedule with an orthopaedic surgeon who has gone through additional training in orthopaedic sports medicine. Sports medicine surgeons at AHN can repair and reconstruct ligaments, muscles, and cartilage in the elbows, shoulders, knees, and hips using minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Sports Performance Coaches

Schedule with a sports performance coach who offers a variety of services, including physical therapy, sports rehabilitation, strength training and conditioning, recovery, and baseball or softball skill training. Sports performance coaches are similar to personal trainers and may have strength and conditioning or athletic training certifications.

Physical Therapy

If you have a referral for physical therapy from an orthopaedic provider, primary care provider, or another provider, schedule with a physical therapist at AHN Therapy. AHN Therapy offices are often located in the same building or on the same floor as offices for orthopaedic services.
