Untreated sleep disorders have been linked to hypertension, heart disease, stroke, depression, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. Sleep problems can take many forms and can involve too little sleep, too much sleep, or inadequate quality of sleep.
Sleep issues can take many forms. Whether you have difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, sleeping too much, or you experience a poor quality of sleep, the AHN Grove City Center for Sleep Disorders can help.
You may take part in a sleep study for a wide variety of reasons, including:
After a full night’s sleep is recorded, the data will be tabulated by a technologist, presented to a specialist for interpretation, and forwarded to your primary care physician (PCP). Your PCP will recommend appropriate treatment ranging from improving your diet and sleep surroundings to wearing a specialized instrument called a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure).
Sleep studies are noninvasive, pain-free procedures performed in a specially designed, relaxing room with a home-like setting.
Our sleep specialists can schedule an evaluation for whenever you normally sleep — night or day — and we can also provide equipment for in-home studies.
There are a few steps to follow before a sleep study can be scheduled for you.
If you are having difficulty getting a restful night’s sleep, talk to your PCP, or other specialist, about your sleep issues. If needed, your doctor may issue a sleep evaluation order to help determine why you are not sleeping well.
If you are a:
Patient with a sleep evaluation order from your doctor:
Fax a copy of your sleep evaluation order, along with your phone number and current health insurance information, to (724) 450-7096.
Doctor or a staff member at a doctor's office:
Fax the patient’s sleep evaluation order, along with their contact phone number, current health insurance information, and any relevant office notes, to (724) 450-7096.
Upon receipt of the necessary faxed information, a Sleep Lab representative will request authorization from your health insurance provider for your sleep evaluation. This step will help determine if your sleep evaluation can be conducted in the AHN Grove City Sleep Lab or in your own home.
Once the Sleep Lab receives authorization and instructions from your health insurance provider, a Sleep Lab representative will contact you directly to set up your sleep study appointment time and location.
If you have questions about scheduling your sleep study, the authorization process or progress, call the AHN Grove City Sleep Lab at (724) 450-7053. They are happy to answer your questions and help you get a restful night’s sleep.
