How do you like your coffee: Whatever seasonal creamer is available with 3 Splenda. Iced coffee > Hot coffee
Previous Lives: I went straight through school from kindergarten through medical school and never had a traditional job until residency, but I did coach softball for several years.
Reason for choosing Saint Vincent: When I was auditionaing as a medical student, everyone there treated me like I was already part of the team. The residents, attendings, and the nurses always made me feel so welcome and valued. They went out of their way to teach me everything they could fit into a shift. I knew that this program would be a place that would support me and allow me to become the best physician I can be. Three years later and I can confirm that this was the right choice - I decided to stay on as a medical education fellow at Saint Vincent!

Reason for choosing Saint Vincent: Auditioning at Saint Vincent showed the culture of how close the residents work with the attendings. I was already part of the team as a student, and as a resident I have joined a family. Saint Vincent is also very unopposed in terms of procedures. We have good experiences in Pittsburgh for our away rotations. Another reason I picked Saint Vincent is because of moonlighting opportunities which can be done during PGY-3.

Reason for choosing Saint Vincent: From day one, I always felt right at home. The culture established at Saint Vincent is unlike any other. You really feel wanted and part of something bigger than yourself working here. I've come to feel that many of my co-residents, attendings, nurses, techs, and so on are extensions of my family and I couldn't have imagined picking any other residency to train at. On top of that, the amount of learning you are able to do, to the liberty you are given to take ownership of the ED is astounding, and definitely something unique I have noticed when compared to other training institutions both as a medical student and even now as I do away rotations at outside facilities.
